With 29 years of service in education, Susan Petterson brings to WSLA experience as a principal, director, coach and trainer. She has invested her energy in supporting professional learning communities, school improvement and curriculum and instruction, and her work has led to an excellent reputation for resolving problems, improving outcomes for students and driving professional growth for staff. Susan relishes her role as a life-long learner and maintains membership as an active WSLA participant (ESD 105).

As a former director of federal programs, assistant principal, principal and teacher, Susan has effectively managed fiscal responsibilities while also building community among students, parents and school communities. 

Susan has received the following honors: OSPI Early Learning Fellow 2017-18, WaKIDS Steering Committee ESD 105, State Approved Trainer WA State Department of Early Learning, Early Achievers Coach, WAEYC, Washington Library Media Association Elementary Principal of the Year 2012, University of Washington P-3 Executive Leadership Certificate 2014, and Selah School District Administrator of the Year 2019.
