Karen Koschak joined the Washington State Leadership Academy in 2015 as a coach. She brings 12 years of successful superintendent experience to her role having served as superintendent in Aberdeen, Granite Falls and Coupeville school districts. She also is a trained mediator, served as a literacy coach for Seattle Public Schools, Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment Manager and principal in Edmonds School District, and a teacher with Marysville School District.
Karen earned her superintendent certificate and completed her doctoral work in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at the University of Washington. Her Masters and Bachelors in Education is from Western Washington University as well as her Principal Certificate.
